Congratulations to Zackery Reed who co-authored a paper (with prof. Elise Lockwood) which received the best paper award at the 2016 conference on Research on Undergraduate Mathematics Education (RUME). The paper, entitled "Students’ meanings of a (potentially) powerful tool for generalizing in combinatorics" provides contrasting cases of two students' reasoning about a generalized representation they each developed.
