The OSU Department of Mathematics will host the 1st Biennial Meeting of the SIAM Pacific Northwest Section (SIAMPNWS), co-located with the PNWNAS (Pacific Northwest Numerical Analysis Seminar) on October 27-29, 2017. The program will feature 4 plenary presentations, over 70 talks in 11 thematic sessions, and more than 25 posters with a Poster Blitz. We expect more than 145 attendees from the Pacific Northwest to participate, with more than 35 from Oregon State, including a dynamic group of student volunteers. Detailed program for the conference is posted at conference web page. (Unfortunately due to the large volume of submissions we won't be able to accommodate walk-ins, and registration is now closed.)
The purpose of the Pacific Northwest Section of SIAM is to bring together the different communities of the Pacific Northwest that are active in industrial and applied mathematics. Its goals are to enhance communication among its members, to promote collaboration for both basic research and applications of mathematics to industry and science, and to support the SIAM mission in the Pacific Northwest region of the US and Canada. SIAMPNWS serves the states of Idaho, Oregon and Washington, and the province of British Columbia.
