I am the Richard S. Pierce postdoctoral fellow at the Mathematics Department of the University of Arizona. I obtained my PhD in mathematics in July 2007 from Oregon State University with a thesis titled "Skew Brownian motion and branching processes applied to diffusion-advection in heterogeneous media and fluid flow".

My research interests lie in the general area of applied stochastic processes to physical phenomena. In this framework, I have had successful collaborations in hydrology, forest science, fluid mechanics and population ecology.

Current specific research interests of mine include: energy dissipation by wave-braking in ocean dynamics, diffusion processes in media with multi-scale heterogeneity, stochastic representation to equations of fluid mechanics.

My leasure interests include ultimate frisbee and salsa dancing.
