Topics: Matrix algebra, determinants, systems of linear equations, computational aspects of eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
Prerequisite: MTH 254.
Textbook: Leon, Linear Algebra with applications, 7th edition., Pearson/Prentice-Hall.
Homework will be assigned in Lectures as a guide for study, and one problem will be collected and graded weekly (usually Fridays). Two fifty-minute Tests will be given. Test problems come from the assigned Homework. Final Exam counts the equivalent of two Tests. The Grade for the course is determined by the best three of these four scores (90%) together with collected Homework (10%). Absence from a Test gives a score of 0 for that Test. The Final Exam will be comprehensive and will serve as a make up for one Test; no excuse from a Test is necessary, and there is no excuse for absence from the Final Exam.Test #1: October 17
