MTH 341: Linear Algebra, Fall, 2010

LECTURE: MWF 1400 -- 1450 Weniger 149 CRN 10418
Instructor: R.E. Showalter Kidder 286 show@math.oregonstate.edu
Office Hours: Mon 15-15:45; Wed 11:30-12:15
Office Hours Tuesday 1200-1350, Dec 7.

Topics: Matrix algebra, determinants, systems of linear equations, computational aspects of eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
Prerequisite: MTH 254.
Textbook: Leon, Linear Algebra with applications, 7th edition., Pearson/Prentice-Hall.
Homework will be assigned in Lectures as a guide for study. Two fifty-minute Tests will be given. Final Exam counts the equivalent of two Tests. The Grade for the course is determined by the best three of these four test scores at 30 points each together with 10 points for homework. Absence from a Test gives a score of 0 for that Test. The Final Exam will be comprehensive and will serve as a make up for one Test. No excuse from a Test is necessary, and there is no excuse for absence from the Final Exam.
Test #1: October 15
Test #2: November 5
Final Exam: Wednesday, December 8, 1200, Weniger 149.
