MTH 341: Linear Algebra, Fall, 2013

Office Hours: Wednesday 1230-1330, Friday 1315-1345.
Topics: Matrix algebra, determinants, systems of linear equations, computational aspects of eigenvalues and eigenvectors:
Chapters 1 - 4, 6 of the Textbook.
Prerequisite: MTH 254.
Textbook: Leon, Linear Algebra with Applications, 8th edition., Pearson/Prentice-Hall.
Homework will be assigned in Lectures as a guide for study but not collected. Two fifty-minute Tests will be given. Five short Quizs will be given on Fridays, and their average score counts the equivalent of one Test. Final Exam counts the equivalent of one Test. Test, quiz and final exam problems come directly from the assigned Homework. The Grade for the course is determined by the best three of these four test scores. Absence from a Test gives a score of 0 for that Test. No excuse from a Test is necessary, and there is no excuse for absence from the Final Exam.
