Abstract: 

Stein’s method initially introduced in 1970 by C. Stein is a powerful technique for bounding the distance between the laws of two real-valued random variables. In this talk, I will begin with presenting the general version of Stein's method. Then the main concepts and techniques of Functional Stein’s method for Gaussian diffusion approximation will be discussed. Finally, we will revisit the Functional central limit theorem and reprove it using Functional Stein’s method.
