Abstract: 

The isoperimetric problem is to determine a plane figure of the largest possible area whose boundary has a specified length. They can be generalized into spaces of higher dimension and into spherical or hyperbolic geometries. Similar isoperimetric problems for convex polygons and polyhedra are studied.
