Abstract:

The goal of this talk is to help popularize the use of a general framework for Fourier Analysis in the applied communities. This framework unifies the treatment of the Fourier transform in various settings, be it discrete or continuous, be it one or higher dimensions. It is convenient to use and does not require cumbersome notation. An introduction to this framework will be provided and some applications in numerical analysis, signal processing and tomography will be pointed out.
