Persistent homology transform (PHT) contains richer topological structure of shapes than persistent homology. In this talk, we will start by reviewing backgrounds in persistent homology. Then we will define PHT and prove a result on injectivity that PHT is sufficient to differentiate any shape in $\mathbb{R}^3$. This talk is based on the work by Turner, Mukherjee and Boyer (2014).
