The Organizing Committee (Gibson, MacDonald, Marshall, Peszynska, Showalter) wants to greatfully acknowledge the help of Deanne and Christina as well as the involvement of local graduate student volunteers who made this event possible and very enjoyable for the participants as well as (*) served as mentors for the minitutorials : Azar Asgari, Tyler Fara (*), Stefanie Fazekas, Nicholas Harrison, Praveeni Mathangadeera (*), Madison Phelps (*), Bailey Sharon, Peter Cowal (*), Wyatt Whiting (*).
One of the (slapstick) awards went to Ralph Showalter for the most time spent on a single slide. Congratulations :-)
The traditional CASCADE RAIN poems (three submitted this year) recorded in our "black book" included these verses
...
It was a RAINY Saturday
when all through Kidder Hall
many Beavers were working
building Maxwells, dams, and all.
...
On this joyful occasion
on an odd day for Corvallis
we discussed math with a mission
gentle and cordial
...
We went looking for answers
better than those before
....
With the help of some Map(per)s
robustness was met
the dams had firm boundaries
stability was set
...
Grateful for Galerkin
prepared the plots
stacked the slidess
while strengthening
the local domain
