Dynamicists typically study the iteration of functions, and arithmetic dynamicists do this with a focus on the number-field setting. A more general context is the iteration of a finite-to-finite relation, or more specifically a correspondence, on an algebraic variety. We will survey some recent work on this topic, and in particular focus on questions about heights.
