Abstract:

Climate change causes the habitable range of a given species to shift either poleward in latitude or upward in altitude. The species itself will have to move with its range, or be left behind. We model this situation via a branching Brownian process with two absorbing boundaries, both of which move with a constant velocity, and consider questions of persistence or extinction of the process.
