This is Part II of a seminar talk that I gave in the fall. I will first review the genus of an end in a 3-manifold and provide some examples.

This will be related to the local genus of points in certain well known subsets of R^{3}.

I will then provide more details of the construction that shows:

For each sequence (N_{i}), where N_{i} is either an integer greater than one, or infinity, there is is a contractible 3-manifold M with a dense

set of ends (e_{i}) with the genus of e_{i}=N_{i .}
