Abstract:

Sundry undergraduate math education researchers have attested to the powerful influence of the affective domain in mathematics, the potential behind students’ mathematical mistakes, and the importance of studying student thinking in enumerative combinatorics. I will discuss these works as well as literature that unites these domains. I will then identify an existing gap in the current literature and discuss efforts to bridge this gap.
