The School of Natural Sciences at the University of California, Merced ( invites applications in the area of Applied Mathematics ( starting July 1, 2017 at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor for the following positions:

1) Assistant Professor in Statistics, Probability and Stochastic Processes

We are seeking exceptionally qualified candidates with expertise in statistics, probability, and/or stochastic processes (for position 1), and in scientific computing, data-enabled science, modelling, or related areas (for position 2) . Special attention will be paid to applicants who participate in interdisciplinary research, and who will contribute to developing the applied mathematics curriculum and to one or more of the campus research initiatives in the natural sciences, engineering and/or social sciences.

Qualifications: Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Statistics (applicable especially for position 1) or related field. We seek a candidate with post-doctoral experience in Applied Mathematics, Statistics (applicable especially for position 1), or related field.
