The Mathematics Department at Rowan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics to begin September 1, 2017. Candidate’s area of expertise should emphasize research in fields in which advanced mathematics using computational tools is employed in a fundamental way. Preference will be given to applicants whose research provides enriched opportunities for training graduate and undergraduate students for careers in industry. A Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field, is required.

Deadline for receipt of applications is November 15, 2016. The application must be submitted through our online application system as a single file (PDF format) containing a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a detailed description of research/project interests and plans, a statement of teaching philosophy, and graduate transcripts (copies acceptable). Three letters of recommendation should be emailed on the candidate’s behalf directly to the Applied Math Search Committee at Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
