The Department of Mathematics at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology invites applications for a position of tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a closely related field by the time the appointment begins and are expected to present evidence of excellence in research and teaching. Preference will be given to those with research interests in applied mathematics that fit in with those of the department and strengthen our Ph.D. program. The successful applicant will teach two or three courses per semester (five per year), ordinarily in their area of interest. Teaching load reductions are available for those supervising graduate students, or with outside funding. The salary is negotiable based upon experience.
