Abstract:

Of the three classical examples of PDE's, the wave equation is the least amenable to be solved utilizing stochastic methods. Recent articles in the literature are attempting to bridge this gap. In this talk, I will present results from the paper by Sourav Chatterjee (arXiv:1306.2382v1) illustrating some of the limitations of stochastic processes in solving hyperbolic equations.
