Abstract:

Malaria is a vector-borne disease that affects humans and other animals. In this talk we will present an approach to model Malaria disease. We will discuss in detail the classic Ross-Macdonald Model and give an alternative model which considers the demography of susceptible mosquitoes. Part of our analysis is to prove the global stability of the single patch model through important results in Dynamical Systems like the Lyapunov Stability Theorem and the LaSalle's Invariance Principle.
