We start the 15th year of AMC Seminar this month, while we reflect on the seminar's breadth and popularity. Since 9/2006 when we started keeping track, the average attendance was 21. 77 (median 21), comprised of 8.54 students, 7.40 Math faculty, and 5.83 other attendees. Our peak attendance was 37 when we ran out of space and had to bring chairs from other classrooms! In 2017 we started featuring online talks, and may record some for future purposes. The seminar welcomes presentations ranging from technical talks, expository and research presentations by students, and various tutorials. If you think you belong to this community, then you do. The seminar is great thanks to you!
No meeting today: enjoy the beginning of the AY 2018-19! On Sept 28 we will have a talk by a former postdoc in our department, Justin Webster, who is now an Assistant Professor at UMBC. Hope to see everyone in a week.
