Abstract:

Whether or not singularities develop in the solution of the unforced 3D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations (NSEs) still remain an open problem, yet there is extensive literature on the sufficient conditions to the regularity of solutions of NSEs. In this talk, I will start with a brief survey of assorted regularity criteria then discuss a class of geometric characterization of the vorticity which yields regularity.
