OSU Mathematics graduate students will travel to the conference 2019 SIAM Conference on Mathematical & Computational Issues in the Geosciences held in Houston, TX; see http://meetings.siam.org/program.cfm?CONFCODE=GS19. Azhar Alhammali will present a minisymposium invited talk on "Numerical Analysis of a System of Variational Inequalities for Biofilm Growth at Porescale"; Lisa Bigler will present a poster on "Modeling Ice/Water Phase Transition at the Porescale"; Choah Shin will present "Stability Analysis and Solvers for Phase Transitions in Hydrate Formation", and Joe Umhoefer will present an oral talk on "Approximating Permeability Density Functions for Flow and Transport in Obstructed Porous Media". Azhar, Choah and Joe have received SIAM Travel awards. The students also appreciate the department plus NSF support for travel. Congratulations!
