Abstract: 

Submanifolds in space forms are isoparametric if their normal bundles are flat and principal curvatures along every parallel normal vector field are constant. This notion can also be generalized to submanifolds in arbitrary Riemannian manifolds and Hilbert spaces. In this talk, I will explain structures of such submanifolds and some of their applications.
