Abstract:

Image analysing is increasingly important in modern day computer technologies. One particular aspect of image analysing involves the study of the topology of the object in the image, and thus arises the need of teaching the idea of topology to computers. In this talk we will introduce cubical homology which is a topological theory that can be easily applied for this purpose. We will also cover how the data in the image can be manipulated to simplify calculations.
