Abstract:

In this talk, we will discuss a particular problem in shape control of anisotropic composite plates in planes, trains and automobiles. In particular, we will show how this work evolved from research in bat flight, attempting to understand how bats are such agile fliers. While the title is meant to be humorous and we hope that the talk will be entertaining, some serious results will be presented.
