About Statistics 2013 Oregon:

The year 2013 marks the 300th anniversary since the publication of Jacob Bernoulli's Ars Conjectandi, and the 250th anniversary of the publication of Bayes' Theorem. As cornerstones of modern probability and statistics, their anniversaries spawned the International Year of Statistics by learned societies around the world. The International Year of Statistics was recognized in a resolution approved by both houses of the United States Congress.

Statistics 2013 Oregon is a collaborative effort of nine Oregon faculty members specializing in probability and statistics from the Lewis & Clark College, Oregon Health Sciences University, Oregon State University, Portland State University, Reed College, University of Oregon, and Willamette University to engage students and professionals in Oregon.
