Abstract:

In this talk I will argue that the usual Leray-Hopf solutions in fact must satisfy a stronger form of energy inequality, where the L^2 norm of the solution is replaced by an arbitrary absolutely continuous non-decreasing function of the norm. This result has some interesting consequences, particularly to the theory of statistical solutions.
