Abstract:

Substitution Markov chains (SMC's) are a kind of randomization of deterministic substitution dynamical systems and were recently introduced as a new model to describe molecular evolution. Here I will show some additional basic properties of this class of countable state Markov chains and give an example for which the Martin boundary can be explicitly calculated and is found to be the product space of the unit interval and the full 2-Bernoulli shift.
