Temperley-Lieb algebras introduced in statistical physics show up in many branches of mathematics: knot theory, theory of subfactors, quantum groups. In this talk I will relate these algebras with McKay correspondence: the classification of finite subgroups of the group SL(2) via affine Dynkin diagrams of type ADE. Moreover, we will show that the finite Dynkin diagrams also show up in the context of so called quantum McKay correspondence.
