John Lee talk on the Weierstrass Approximation Theorem. The Spring Awards Ceremony starts at 3 PM and the Lonseth Lecture starts immedieately after.
There will be a reception and refreshments after the talk in the lobby.

Pi Mu Epsilon Reinstallation On Friday, May 30, we will be re-installing our chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, the mathematics honor society. Our chapter, Oregon Beta, was founded in 1938 (when OSU was named Oregon State College) and was active until 1967. The department will be honoring new inductees with an Induction Ceremony, including a special undergraduate-level colloquium, from 4 until 5:45PM, to be followed by a reception. Our guest speaker will be the Editor for the PME Journal, Brigitte Servatius from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA. She will be speaking on Combinatorial rigidity and the molecular conjecture, which involves Graph Theory and the behavior of molecules. "
