Abstract:

The Perron Frobenius theorem is a central theorem for understanding behavior and growth rates of positive linear maps. The theorem gives the existence of a dominant real eigenvalue with a corresponding eigenvector with nonnegative entries. We will discuss extensions of this theory to arbitrary Banach spaces.
