Wall Street is currently awash with more intellectual firepower than at any other time during the last 100 years. But how do these large number of mathematicians and physicists actually contribute to the ongoing success of the world's largest financial institutions? By studying the tale of 'The Statistical Hare Versus the Deterministic Tortoise,' this presentation will offer an insight into what life is like on the front line in the financial markets. Dr. Lane is a volunteer member of the external advisory board of the University Honors College, which is a co-sponsor of this event.
