Strong presence of OSU Mathematics students at SIAM PNW

The 5th Biennial Meeting of the Pacific Northwest Section of SIAM (held jointly with the 35th Pacific Northwest Numerical Analysis Seminar) met October 3-5, 2025, at the University of Washington in Seattle, and the Mathematics Department of OSU was well-represented. More than 13 students and several faculty from OSU Mathematics presented, and many other OSU students participated.

Among the plenary speakers was our own Professor Vrushali Bokil, who spoke on energy stable discretizations for nonlinear electromagnetic models. Also speaking were University Distinguished Professor Malgorzata Peszynska and Instructor Patrik Nabelek, as well as a host of graduate students from the department, including Fernando Angulo Barba, Wei Xi Boo, Kamrul Chowdury, Tyler Fara, Stefanie Fazekas, Sahir Gill, Nicholas Harrison, Mansi Sanjay Mahajan, Praveeni Mathangadeera, Victory Obieke, Emmanuel Oguadimma, and Zachary Radke. Among these, Eleanor Courcelle won a poster award. Congratulations!
